Star Trek Writers/Directors Guideby Gene Roddenberry Revision III, April 17, 1967 The actual guidebook for people wanting to write scripts for this new series. Great insights into the difficulties in producing Classic Trek for tv and Gene's vision for the show. Find out: Which of our officer's didn't graduate from the Academy, the story behind Joanna McCoy, who does perfect impressions of others, who Gene labeled "a chatterbox", who has an "unspoken bond" with Bones, and how to calculate a stardate. Thanks to allensh for the link.

FWIW, this page assumes you have this font installed (it uses it for the title).

Holy cow! I've wanted to read that thing since about '76 or so (whenever I first read Whitfield's book). This is awesome!
Have an exalt for this, and I'll get Aramis one, too, when I can do another.

Pretty great for a GM, eh? Yeah, I am thrilled, too! Thanks, allensh!

I have a copy of this. Wish I'd thought to share it first.
I had a professor at college in the early 1980's who I swear looked just like Scotty (The Star Trek IV version). He had a set of original series insignia patches and one of these. I can't remember if he gave me his or if we made a copy. It's somewhere in my boxes o' stuff and I haven't seen it or thought about it in years.
The one he owned had an orange cover. I can't recall what mine looks like.
