I also have small thumbnails of the various uniforms I've seen, which while not quite updated to my satisfaction (I still have gold rather than lime for the command branch), it gives a quick look at the variety of uniforms.
Some time ago, when I was writing the rank section for my game, someone asked me about enlisted crew because my rank table only accounts for officers. I couldn't find anything that really made any sense. This is a lot clearer than the explanations I found.
I probably still won't expand that section to include them, but this looks like a good resource I can point people to should the need arise.
Safari and Chrome both support SVG, BB. FF was supposed to pick up SVG, but hasn't yet.
MS is notoriously bad about implementing other people's standards, and IE has been broken for years due to it, has massive unpatched security links, and numerous other problems, like not actually adhering to the HTML compliance standards.... (It's also the least number of hits on my website analysis...)
I do know a workaround, and I'm not pulling the old version, either. It's a second, parallel modality. On the other hand, I found a bunch of errors on the old one when I compared it to the auction photos. But I'm not fixing the gifs. That's way more work than I'm willing to do. The SVG's are vector, rather than raster, allowing very small files to carry a lot of scalable image.
Supposedly, Opera, Safari, and Chrome all support SVG right now.
Oh, and I found that FF3.6.13 will render the individual images, but not in image tags. So you can right-click on the broken-image icon, and select view image, and it does, in fact, result in seeing the image.
