Yes, we'll do a Sensors sweep when we're at 1LY away...
Contact (19) skill roll = [dice=20]. Number of questions = [dice=6].[rand=785376260411909273291602678628518488589304463545011676681042672]

Questions:
1. Are any starships with Warp technologies detected in the system? 2. How many Class-M planets are there in the system? 3. Are any ship with sub-Warp technologies detected in the system? 4. Are any radiation storms or clouds detected in the system? 5. Are the signs of Intelligent life and civilization detected in the system?

Magnus: If RJ wants to really cut the time, put up an int test (d20 for int or less). So long as he makes it, it will save about 0.005 stardates (about 1 hours) by dropping out of warp deep insystem. If he fails, it's graze a rock for 1d6 damage (shields applying).
APN &/or Magnus: if you want to do a sensors upon entry to the system, you can. Dro can't, since you can only scan a thing once per character each day.

RJ's CNT attribute is lousy, so he'll live the sensors alone. INT ROLL:

And the roll was over 11-level, so bonus effect. Two hours ahead of schedule, and dead on orbit insertion

Can I use the Sensors to sweep the planet now that we are in orbit? Or did Jasper use up his chance when he scanned the entire system before entering it?

Drohem used his chance for the system for the day; he can scan the world. You can still scan the world, and the system, as two separate scans. So can Magnus' JR (tho the odds of success are bad there... he can still try.) Each PC can scan each given target once per day.
If you find an anomaly in a given scan, scanning just the anomaly would be a separate scan for the day.
You only run out of scans when you run out of things to scan...

Jasper will do a Sensors sweep of the planet...
Contact (19) skill roll = [dice=20].
Number of questions if successful = [dice=6]. [rand=2128301095174504196464191654840142733317852051498533570743604252]

I believe that Jasper gets two bonus questions, one for working in his field and one for a high success, but I will for GM ruling on these extra questions.
Questions from planet Sensor sweep:
1. Are the dim lights emanating from the coast lines artificial?
2. Are non-naturally occurring metals detected?

In field does get a bonus if it's about life forms. Using a high but under protocol makes it easier to see (especially at table) who got just an ordinary success. 1. most of them. 2. No, all metals detected occur naturally. Waiting for 3.
