Here are the rules. Post your spells strictly in OD&D format and try to keep it as close to an OD&D feel as possible while still having it “make sense” for Star Trek. Obviously, these aren’t spells per-se. But we’ll call it that for now so the intent is clear. It should be something cool that Mr. Spock could do (that’s not specifically tied to his Vulcanian heritage), either that he actually did in an episode, or make up something that fits. You don’t need to adhere strictly to the show, just capture the right feel. It can be “serious” or “campy” or whatever you want. Remember, Gygax’s OD&D was whimsical and gritty. If you do take inspiration from an episode, please cite it so people can trace it back and get an idea of what you’re getting at! Let’s try up to 6 levels for Science Spells. Assume that Mr. Spock could “cast” up to 3rd level, later 4th level. 6th level would be like a genius scientist guest-star (though in a game you could work your way up to that eventually). Aim to make the results of the spell specific. Not AD&D-style spelled out with every possible restriction and requirement and detail of how it works. But, I mean it should have a specific result, like “Tricorder reports the number and direction of sentient life forms within a 1/2 kilometer radius”. NOT a sort of “lets you solve your problem” open-ended skill-check-like result. Make sense? Have at it!
