So, does this mean we can expect a Star Trek version of Labyrinth Lord?

So, does this mean we can expect a Star Trek version of Labyrinth Lord? When Dan popped in, it occurred to me for the first time that Mutant Future might have a lot of useful tools in it applicable to old school Trek. Aliens, androids and artifacts, oh my!

Cool! Mutant Future is pretty much my favorite old school game. I just bought the dead tree version of it a few months back, even.

Well, I admit I have had the thought of doing an MF expansion book for this kind of thing, but I'm not sure. One thing is that since I can't use any of the Star Trek stuff (races, etc.) would anyone really be interested in something Star Trek-like with new races? I do have some ideas but I'm not sure it would be of interest to a lot of people. I do think MF would be a solid basis for such a game, which is why I'd rather go that route than trying to create a whole new game that just repeats a lot of rules from MF.
So I don't know. I'd have to mull it over. I'm mainly just here fore the old-school Trek goodness.

I've had a big Star Trek itch lately so I thought I'd join up! Some of you may know me elsewhere as Dan Proctor, or Goblinoid Games. Welcome, Dan! Nice to see we hang out in the same places. I had almost forgotten TOS Star Trek before this place arrived, and now it's on my brain a lot, too!

It costs $7 a month to keep this forum Ad-Free. I paid it for Jan and Feb, but not sure if I should continue. Personally, I use Firefox with AdBlock Plus, so I don’t notice any difference. Do any of you get an ad?

Personally, I use Firefox with AdBlock Plus, so I don’t notice any difference. Do any of you get an ad? I hadn't noticed that... since the last auto-update Moz-FF did, the ads have disappeared off the other forums I frequent! I do still see the annoying, computer-slowing "action ad" banner at the top of the page (just below the banner) here, though. Is there anything that can be done about that? I mean, all other forums I browse run pretty fast (except for one from the UK... but DF and another UK-based one run fine), but here I can type faster than the letters appear on the screen... and I don't type very fast at all (improved 2-finger "hunt&peck").

Where do we send the money order? Actually, anyone can click the link at the bottom of each page: Click Here To Make This Board Ad-Free, if desired! Hrm. Make sure you have Adblock Plus installed, and in the preferences for it make sure you are subscribed to EasyList (USA). That should fix you. Be sure to let me know if you get rid of the banner and the problem persists. The problem could be all the javascript I have installed in order to make the forum look and behave how I like, but if it is causing problems for people I will cut it down. (But I don’t experience the slowing problem, so hopefully it is tied to the ads, which I also don’t experience.)

Ok... now I understand what you mean... no, I haven't paid the Danegeld for an ad-free experience.

It makes the forum ad-free for everyone, not just yourself.

I barely notice the ads unless I specifically look for them.

I threw together an image which is basically a collage of all the various games and manuals that have been under discussion here so far. It’s not particularly attractive, but it amuses me. I didn’t know where to put it, so I put it at the bottom of the page for now. The order is pretty haphazard, but here’s what I’ve got: The Making of Star Trek Star Trek Battle Manual Star Fleet Technical Manual Star Trek Concordance Star Fleet Medical Reference Manual Star Fleet Battle Manual Space Patrol Star Trek Adventure Gaming in the Final Frontier Star Trek Adventure Gaming in the Final Frontier, 2nd Edition Starships & Spacemen Star Explorer Star Fleet Battles Federation Space Star Patrol Starfleet Voyages Star Trek MapsIt’s more a list of things I want to collect than anything else...

I like it! It always cool to see the actual covers of some of the older and obscure games.

Stuff like this add atmosphere to the forum. I'm gonna have to figure out how to do stuff like this in proboards so I can jazz up my OD&D Discussion site like you've done here...
