Vic Mignogna channels Captain Kirk very well, even if he's a tad old... (I can't believe I said that, after Chris Pine!) Chris Doohan does a fine job in his dad's role... jury's still out on Spock & McCoy though.

I think they did a pretty good job of getting actors that look fairly close. Vic does look quite a bot like Shatner. And the attention to detail sis amazing. Here is a side-by-side of the last 2 minutes of Mirror, Mirror (filmed in 1966) with the same footage of the beginning of The Fairest of Them All (filmed in 2014): vimeo.com/98997408If you haven't watched Star Trek Continues, I believe it does justice to TOS in a way that no other series has. I was a big fan of Star Trek New Voyages: Phase II, but this one is much better.

I stuck these three episodes on my iPod for the long flight to Germany. They were fan-tastic! Best of the unofficial Trek episodes. They got the look and feel, music, camera technique, story feel, and everything just like the real thing. Having the different actors didn't bother me one bit because even if they didn't look the same, they copied the posture and mannerisms or the originals. Best 3 hours of Star Trek I have watched since TNG finished its original run!
