A classic example of the continuity differences. T-Canon designates this design the Avenger class, and its TOS-era equivalent the Surya class. S-Canon studiously avoids movie references. F-Canon calls it the Reliant class, and its TOS-era equivalent the Anton class. What is T-Canon, S-Canon, and F-Canon? Technical manuals Canon, Starfleet Battles Canin, and FASA Canon maybe?

For our Far Trek game, it is set in the TOS universe, sometime during the 3 seasons. Would love to see/hear a game write-up or recap! Sounds like it's going to be fun!

We start 1/1/22 (our last B/X session before the hiatus is 12/18/21). We'll see which game they choose to play, after a one-shot of all three (1/1/22, 1/15/22, and 1/29/22).

So, for what its worth, I ran a slightly house ruled session of Far Trek v.1 for my group, running them through "Be Not Afraid" by Roger Taylor II.
We created characters (for three players, each had 1 command staff rank, 1 Lt. rank, and 1 ensign rank; each player took 1 Gold Shirt, 1 Red Shirt, and 1 Blue Shirt; 3 character for each player). I also utilized music and sounds from the original series.
The players LOVED it!! They said it really felt like a TOS episode to them. It is now on their short list for what our next campaign will be (we've played Wild West Cinema, and we are playing Star Wars WEG D6 this weekend).

Players asked for a second game of Far Trek to help them decide between that and Wild West Cinema!
I've already explained to them that "Far Trek" is heavily inspired by TOS - each session will be 1 adventure; and they will be mostly stand-alone adventures - like the original series. Far Trek will be an "Adventure of the Week" set up by the GM for the players to deal with.
Wild West Cinema is more like the movie "Tombstone". There are hooks, but Players will drive the action, and their actions will resonate through the campaign world (an Old West town an the surrounding county).

So game 2 of Far Trek happened this weekend. I ran them through a slightly house-ruled "Words are not Deeds" by Roger Taylor II. The players again LOVED it, stating it felt very TOS.
They had to choose between playing a campaign of Far Trek or Wild West Cinema. It was a tough choice, but they ultimately decided WWC - while still saying they want to play more Far Trek in the future.
