Well, I was sticking with licensed ones, but if we’re going to go into unlicensed ones, there’s also Starfleet Voyages, which is a post-TWoK update of STAGFF. Any more?

I wouldn't argue against S&S being added. It's strewn with Star Trek references, and Dr. Kanterman was really clear that he based it on Trek and would have licensed it if it had been "economically feasible". It goes far beyond Trek in its setting and fluff, but it's historically notable in this forum. Perhaps also worth noting: Star Trek The Motion Picture - Rules for Adventures in the Final Frontier, published in White Dwarf #18 Apr/May 1980, written by Tony Yates and Steve Jackson. Despite its focus on the Citadel miniatures and the fact that the characters only have two stats (Ability Factor and Combat Factor), the writers touted it "as a basis for conducting role-playing games and tabletop battles with miniature figures... no doubt players will modify and add to the rules as they see fit, using portions of their own favourite role-playing and/or skirmish rules." Now that's old school Trek roleplaying ;D EDIT: sorry, I see I already wrote about this in the Different Worlds thread. Oops. Now I remember why I had this small stack of S&S stuff sitting next to my desk!

Yeah, the STTMPRAitFF exemplifies the confusion GW sewed in terminology... they call narrative-linked battles Roleplaying. They called 40KRT roleplaying. "3D Roleplay"...
The other knockoff of note is TWERPS TWEK.
One should ask Dr. K for permission to scan the stuff he wrote and share it... 'cause I've never seen it!

aramis, if you're still in touch with him, please ask. I have the "S&S Expansion Kit" and Errata article from DW#2 and his Designer Notes from The Space Gamer, so I could scan and post them if he has no problem with it. I've always wanted to drop him a line with my compliments, but I once contacted Ed Lipsett (Spacefarers' Guide series) and, while very gracious, didn't seem to want to talk about the old days.

Done, thanks! I'll let the group know when I hear back. BTW, I thought of another unofficial game, but it's not at all old school. It's The Star Wreck Roleplaying Game, a Finnish RPG that is based on a fairly sophisticated fan film, and parodies both Trek canon and Trek RPGs. Free PDF (English) available. It's actually a serious role-playing game with an unserious approach to the setting. From the book: It’s not the fun of playing larger-than-life heroes who save the world by making epic sacrifices in dramatic circumstances. This is the fun of playing smallminded losers who save the world by accident while trying to save their own ass in tragi-comic circumstances. It's another one of many topics I've not yet covered on Groknard, but on the off chance I never do, I add it to this list for posterity.

I didn't know they had an English version out yet. I really, really liked the movie it was based on. Hilarious, in a strangely Finnish sort of way.

another "unlabeled Trek" is Battlestations by Gorilla Games. Technically a boardgame. Functionally, also an RPG.
