Sounds like a plan. Ensign Redd Shurtt reporting for duty Will fill in the blanks today.

Thanks, just updating the character sheet now. Been delayed as I've been juggling re-reading the game (it's been decades, literally) and getting on with real life junk Will post the character in the roster section.

Once you narrate that you've beamed aboard, (and preferably reported to the bridge) I'll make the rolls (and check the GM charts) to see what nastiness awaits.

apn,
What do you think? Should we check it out? Should we try hailing the ship before thinking about making any course corrections to check it out?

Well, Grayson (thick hick inbred redneck) probably wouldn't come up with too many smart suggestions, but as a player I'd suggest: - Hail them in every language. Twice. Everything by the book.
- Try to identify the ship by running a picture through the database, any identifying markings, etc
- Shields up and drop to impulse to close on it.
- Here's the tricky part. I think transporting aboard will be very dangerous. Without the layout of the ship we'd be firing blind. It has no shields up, so that's still an option. Another might be to match speed with a shuttle and dock with it somehow. It's taken no aggressive action, we can't tell if it has shields or weapons, the only thing its doing wrong is not responding to hails or transmitting a 'this is who we are' code.
- Where is it heading? We need to plot an immediate course at its present heading and speed. If heading towards a planet or space station, maybe we can contact them to get some idea, show them an image of the ship.
- I definitely think we should check it out, but not waste too much time, even contact other SFS ships in the area to quarantine it. We are on a time limit, so we'll need to hustle.
In summary - I think it needs investigating, if nothing else other than to get in touch, see who they are and what they want, and send them on their way one way or another.

apn,
OK, I'm inclined to just report this to Starbase Adak and move on unless you really want to board the ship and discover what happened to the crew.

I'm for taking a look - if the starbase wants to know more details it'd be kind of embarrassing to say "We don't know. Sort it out yourself!" However, that said, you're the Captain, and these decisions don't come lightly! We are on a strict time limit, so we can't dally long, but I'd suggest at least making sure the freighter is sealed up tight, powered down and quarantined with some kind of marker or beacon to stay away for when one of our ships can come take a proper look. Besides, I wanna hunt bugs

OK, well I guess that PP recovery roll decided the situation for us. We'll have to just mark it's course and position and send that information to Starbase Adak. We've spent 45 our of our 50 PPs, so there's really nothing we can do here and waiting an extra day will throw our schedule out of whack.

I know it's following ST formula to refer to other persons as Mister, i.e. Mr. Vork or Mr. Grayson. How would I address a female using this term? How would I address O'Keef using this informal naming convention?

Am sure Kirk referred to 'Saavik as 'Mr' in Wrath of Khan.

I know it's following ST formula to refer to other persons as Mister, i.e. Mr. Vork or Mr. Grayson. How would I address a female using this term? How would I address O'Keef using this informal naming convention? She's Mister, as well, on duty. Miss off-duty. It's actually USN tradition, at least according to the 1984 LPM and the 1978 Bluejacket's Manual. In fact, anyone you outrank is mister, and anyone who outranks you is Sir. Women may opt for Miss and Ma'am. And if you're dressing them down, it's just "Mister!" Likewise, "Very Good, Sir" is the proper response to being informed of something by a superior, "Very Good" from an equal, and "Very Well, Mister _ln._." when informed of something by an inferior. Specific rank may always replace mister. I was a navy cadet in HS....

Am sure Kirk referred to 'Saavik as 'Mr' in Wrath of Khan. Kirk and Spock, both. In Vulcan, he refers to her as Saaviḵam.

Hey aramis,
You've made several comments that the decision to engage the Videni ship was questionable. My understanding of the campaign world is that the Confederation and Videni are at war, and this Videni ship was in Confederation space so I thought that it was our duty to engage the enemy when encountered in our own space. Only the Videni have the 'cloaking' device which they revealed before we fired on them, so I don't see how the actions were questionable. It was confirmed that this was an enemy ship in our space before we fired.
Why do you think that Jasper's actions are questionable?
