The trip down is a bit rough, but otherwise uneventuful. The landing pad is on a large sea platform; the platform is roughly hexagonal, about 2 km across, and the landing platform is pretty much central; the "towers" along the edges runs to about 2 stories. The actual landing plaform is about 150m across, and also hexagonal, and has a ring of buildings of about 2 floors as well; One of the areas is obviously a hangar for shuttles; it's along the north edge, centered. Opposite is a repulsor beam emitter.
No one is on the deck to meet you.

Ensign Grayson
"Ah'll go first, check things out sir!" said Grayson in a muffled voice through his fully zipped up Rad suit. He clumps his way to the exit and fumbles with fingers too fat for the buttons whilst he's wearing the suit. Finally, he'll clomp outside, weapon at the ready and looking fer somethin' to blast the hell outta...
ACTIONS: Take a look around...

As he climbs down from the shuttle, Grayson notices that the hangar doors are all closed, and that there are subtle signs of a shuttle having moved to the hangar recently. There are no standard shuttle power-up fittings, no shuttle movement gear besides the gravito-magnetic tracks between the landing area and the hangar. The personnel door to the hangar is locked, but the one under the tower shows signs of forced entry in the recent past; wires are hanging outside the control box.

Scowling, Grayson sticks his head back in the shuttle. "Sir, ah reckon sumthins' goin' on. Best have yer weapon ready. Want me to take ah look around first n report back or ya fer comin' along? Ah recommend th' first one but yer the Cap'n an ah reckon you know what's right too. If it were up ta me someone else would be along and you'd be on th' ship." he added, with a grumble.
ACTIONS: See if the Captains coming, then head for the door that's been forced. He's being careful, but will take a look about, weapon at the ready, set for stun.

Jasper didn't like the look of things upon landing the shuttle, and Mr. Grayson's report didn't ease that sinking feeling in the pit of his blue-furred stomach. Although he was somewhat worried, Jasper put on a calm and cool exterior for Ensign Grayson.
Jasper opens a communication link to the ship with the shuttle and says, "Mr. O'Keef, upon landing it looks like there's been some mischief on deck. Please lock in our signals into the transporter and have Mr. Vork at the ready for an emergency transportation if necessary. Captain Alizarin out."
As Jasper exits the shuttle he chuckles at Mr. Grayson and says lightly, "you are my weapon Mr. Grayson. Keep your eyes sharp and we'll seek entry through that forced door first."

Aboard "O'Keef, here. Read your 'suspcious situation.' We'll be ready to zip-zap y'all up." As the channel closes, "Mark, Doc, get your arses over to the teleporter room. Be ready."
Planetside The eerie silence is broken by the clanking of boots on metal deck covered in non-skid paint, and the soft roar of a distant ocean. As the two approach the door, it becomes clear that a cutting laser was used to open the casing. The work was precise, methodical, and there is no sign it was done under fire. The door is secured, but the wiring is exposed, and it can be seen it's been manually overridden several times by the spark marks on the inside of the circuit box.

Jasper steps up to the door to take a look at the wiring and attempts to open the door manually. However, he is unable to get the door to respond to his attempts.

Ensign Grayson
Grayson didn't want to look like an idiot, but felt obliged to try the door, if only to make the Captain feel better. He was about to state "Looks like ah'll have ta blast th' door open Cap'n" when the inevitable - door not opening - happened, but he figured he'd try his best anyway...

With a spark, a hiss, and a sudden thunk, the door opens, revealing a customs desk. Several blast marks indicate a bit of combat occurred with energy weapons. The door past the desk is secured, and the terminal on the desk comes to life.
"I'll be down momentarily, gentlemen," says a familiarish tauran voice. "Beware the..."
Grayson, at that moment, still framed by the doorway, is being charged by a large furry beast, drool from its shaggy maws flying, and sharp white teeth prominently visible.

Grayson ground his teeth and raised his laser! Whatever this... this thing was it sure as heck wasn't gonna chew on his rad suit!

The Beast leaps at Grayson, who bats it's drooling maw aside... and his radsuit spares him the intimate smell of wet fur, fish slime, and beast-breath. The 250 kg of monster seems to have a collar tho, Grayson notices.
Jasper, however, is not spared the stench. The beast is radiating an overwhelming sense of "Oooh! People! Me want play! Me Want Play!"

Jasper reaches out and tries to grab at the back of Mr. Grayson's Rad-suit and pull him back out of the range of the chained beast. However, he missed and stumbled a bit before recovering.
"Get out of its leash range!" Jasper yells to Alexander.

The beast continues to overbear Grayson, tho' it seems overly enthusiastic rather than dangerous.

Jasper tries to distract the beast from Alexander and keep it at bay at the same time. As second nature, Jasper reaches out with his mind to see the emotional state of the creature since it seems not to be 'attacking' Mr. Grayson to do intentional harm.

Ensign Grayson
Grayson forgets about blasting the thing and concentrates more on keeping it from slobbering over his face "It's... breath... ach... reminds me o... my grandmas... unnngh ... get it... get it off!" he cries, wrestling with the beasty as best he can to get it off!
