Old school for the win. Why would I not take a hand laser and a communicator? Here comes Ensign Thomas "Tommy" O'Reilly, aka "Rigger-Jigger" or "RJ". One question, though... I don't see a toolkit in the equipment, and since I fancy RJ as a pilot/tech... how much would a toolkit cost in equipment points?

Let's call it two points for a +1 Tech kit, Contents: - Multi-bit driver, manual, with lots of bits
- laser welder/cutter (2d close combat)
- powerspanner, Tractor Driven
- Adjustable wrenches, S/M/L (+1, +1d, +2d close combat)
- micro-bit driver, manual
- variable power driver (uses same bits as manual)
- Dremel (2d close combat)

Probably should find out who's in what quarters. ;D Am I keeping the 3 NPC Crew aboard? (It seems from the banter that O'Keef is a keeper.) One more NPC may be requisitioned, if desired. Vork may be returned to base duty if you want... Or kept... At least you've figured out how he's broken. Carnival: Paddy will be hitting Battle and Skeet. Vork will avoid it all. Johnson's going for the hall of vision.

Could you elaborate a bit on these Halls; I'm not sure I understand what they are. Are they entertainment rooms for the staff of Starbase Adak? Was the trap comment a joke?

They're an option at starbase. See Section 4.8 (page 47-48 of the PDF edition), Item 7... You're not supposed to know exactly which does what until after everyone's committed. Maximum 3 picks. 1 will be bad. Random rolled. 1 will be no effect. Random rolled. the other 4 will have a potential positive effect. I have mechanical effects picked for all of them, whether positive or negative. It's a random chance at character growth... No change worth more than ±1 per visit. If you hit a negative, you'll not go back to it if you picked it twice or thrice.

Grayson will take a pop at Skeet until he gets a positive or negative effect. Any other attempts left over will go on battle.

Battle worthless, and Vision is bad news. This time. (every trip to starbase, I'll rotate some in/out, and reroll bad and no effect.)
Battle: Reenacting Thermopylae with paper-bag puppets.
Skeet: Make a Marskmanship to gain 1 MKS, from hours of practice Vision: Make an Int or lose 1 point of Int from your visionquest with Commander Chakotay leaving you brain damaged.
Paddy: Battle is no effect; Skeet is [dice=20] (Fail, gain nothing) APN: Skeet 1 is [dice=20] (Fail), 2 is [dice=20] (fail) and Skeet 3 is [dice=20] (fail). You spend the rec time shooting at targets... and missing a lot. Johnson: [dice=20] (made) - Comes back to ship muttering about Huffalumps, Woozles, talking hot-pink weasels, and strange practices of little-known religions...
APN: Might want to edit your character sheet in the personnel roster: for making level 2, rank goes to Lieutenant JG, and you get a +1 to one left-column stat of choice[rand=4069675924256444445025895489379762694524351973086616720939124934375]
