On the Telepathic Dog: Approved, but note that, since you lack the Telepathy power, it won't be the 100% accurate obedience. It will be loyalty 20 to you, tho'. Name it, and you may figure it's Brockway's younger sibling. And remember, you have 6 more questions Sienna is Brockway's younger sister. More questions: 1. Have complex life forms been detected on the Class-M planet? 2. How many planets have been detected in the system? 3. What position in the system is the Class-M planet? 4. Have simple life forms been detected on the Class-M planet? 5. How many satellites does the Class-M planet have? 6. Is the Class-M planet volcanically stable? 1. uncertain; chlorophyll detected. 2. 3 planets & Asteroid belt detected 3. 2nd, at 10 light-minutes 4. Yes. 5. 1 detected 6. Volcanic activity is detected (SO2 & SiO2 in trace atmospheric amounts).

Uncharted radiation storm in hex 0408.

Since we've detected the radiation storm ahead of time, can we avoid it in the Waypoint with a Piloting roll? Or do we have avoid that Waypoint altogether to avoid the radiation storm?

You can't simply avoid it; warp travel is not given to accurate steering. It's big enough that you'll need to either turn away (3 Power) or come to a stop to avoid entry. (Or you could raise full shields and/or try to ride it through).

Sorry to sound like a newb, but I have no idea exactly how or what to roll.

No problem. When you click on the 'Reply' button and open up the editor to write a post, there is a dice looking button on the far right. You click on that button and it inserts the dice roll into the post. It's set as a default to rolling a d20. If you need to change the die to a d6, just insert a 6 over the 20. No, thank you; the last storm we tried to ride out was just too rough for the old girl. === Evasive Maneuvers === -- At Waypoint 0407 change course to hexside border 4/5 and proceed into Waypoint 0308 (3 PP expended). -- At Waypoint 0308, change course to hexside 4 and proceed to Waypoint 0309 (3 PP expended). -- End the day in Waypoint 0309 (total 50 PP used for the day).

Magnus: Very little rolling for space travel. Seriously. No course plotting skill rolls.
If the decision to go through had been made instead, you'd have had a chance to roll to avoid the more intense parts of the storm (which would have been Contact Skill to find them, and Int to drive around them), and cost three rather than 5 PU.
Checking for random encounter in new hex [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6].
