Ismayeel maneuvers the tank, saying, "If I push, it leaves you two free to shoot if it gets uppity."

Jasper chuckles at Alex and says, "yes, if it attacks us, then you can shoot it."
"Good idea, Ismayeel," Jasper says at his suggestion, "I'll help you push the tank and Mr. Grayson and Brockway can cover us in case the creature does something."
Jasper walks over and starts pushing the tank with Ismayeel toward the Brig.
As they start pushing the tank out into the ship's corridors, Jasper lays out his plan, "we'll secure the creature and tank in a cell in the Brig. We don't want that thing escaping from Sick Bay and sliming its way throughout the ship's air ducts."

AS the tank is secured in the brig, it is noticeable that the temperature is a rather chilly 5°C... but that's not much cooler than the tank.

Having secured the tank and creature in a locked cell, Jasper turns to Alex and says, "now, let's take care of that egg sac."
Jasper walks back into the hallway, and toward Weapon's Bay again. Once inside, he'll glance over at the egg sac to make sure that it's still there and looks the same.
After looking at the egg sac, he says to Alex and Ismayeel, "let's find something to scrapped this off with and something to put it into temporarily."
Jasper starts searching around the room for these items.

As the chiseling begins, it becomes clear that the metal of the tools is softer than the epoxy of the egg case and the casing of the torpedo.

"Alright, Mr. Grayson," Jasper says through a frustrated sigh, "it looks like we're going to have to go with your freezing idea. Let's get some liquid nitrogen and freeze it off."

Ensign Grayson
"Aye sir. Ah'll go down ta engineerin' n see if we can't grab a canister o coolant." he says to the Captain. "Don't ta shoot th' damn thing if it tries any funny business..." he adds, glaring at the creature before leaving to gets some coolant.

Grayson contacts the bridge, asking Vork about coolant.
Vork suggests, "Hit the science lab, and condense some LN2 with the sample freezer, Sir."
Which Grayson, muttering to himself, proceeds to do. The sample freezer, with it's wide range of temperatures, is easily set for way cold... It takes Grayson another call to the bridge, and a half hour, to fill the large coffee service insulated carafe with LN2...
Freezing the eggsack with LN2 simply results in nitrogen clouds, and dropping the engine room temps considerably. The egg sack, however, seems able to wick the heat.
"Thermokinesis. Damn them." Says Ismayeel. "That is the correct invective, yes?"

Jasper gives Ismayeel a quizzical sideways glance as he chuckles and says jovially, "indeed it was, Ismayeel. You executed it perfectly, I might add."
"This is turning into an interesting problem," the blue-furred Andromedan captain muses out loud, "it looks like we're going to have to apply a wider array of solutions to this problem."

Jasper looks to Alex and says, "we'll take the casing off the torpedo, and then move the whole thing with the egg sac attached into the Brig for safe keeping."
"Let's get to work, Mr. Grayson," Jasper says as he starts digging around for the right tools to do the job at hand.

In faily short order, the dozen fasteners connecting the nosecone to the body of the torpedo are removed, and a couple minutes more, and the body is disassembled, removed, and allows removal of the nose cone from the launcher.
Knowing the stock mass of the nose cone from the component parts list on the wall, and the current mass, that egg sack masses some 3kg.
Stowing it in the brig is trivial; the parent has not moved within the tank.
Looking at the clock, it's =SD=2102.72=. Jaspar realizes that, knowing the normal slop in orders, it's going to be close, but he'll be in before SD 2102.9... close enough for regulations with a due date of 2102.8.

Seeing that the egg sac has been secured in the Brig, Jasper returns to the Bridge.
"Mr. Vork and Mr. O'Keef," Jasper says to the crewmen, "you are relieved for four hours of sack time. Please show Dr. Kordoba, Ismayeel, and Brockway to suitable quarters before your down time."

Ensign Grayson
"Ah'd still feel better if we tossed th' thing out th' airlock but maybe we'll catch a break n get it back ta the starbase without further trouble. Orders Cap'n?"

Vork and O'Keef, nearly in unison, snap to Attention, and say, "I stand relieved, Sir. Thank-you, Sir!"
Vork turns to Ismayeel and Kordoba, "Sirs, if you will follow me, please?", and points out the aft-starboard bridge door, through which he exists as soon as they start moving.
O'Keef lags a minute, then slowly wobbles out the aft-starboard, saying, "I'll sleep in medical, and see if Johnson can patch me up, if that's all right, Sir..." Jaspar and Grayson can't help but notice she doesn't wait for an answer.
Johnson, however, asks tersely, "Permission to treat my patient?"

Ensign Grayson"Ah'd still feel better if we tossed th' thing out th' airlock but maybe we'll catch a break n get it back ta the starbase without further trouble. Orders Cap'n?" Jasper smiles and says, "duly noted, Mr. Grayson. Orders are that we have a quiet and uneventful trip back." Johnson, however, asks tersely, "Permission to treat my patient?" Jasper nods affirmatively at Mr. Johnson as he says, "Yes, Mr. Johnson."
