This is pretty cool. Fenway5, the writer at Sword & Shield, has made a pretty cool conversion of WNM. He stripped out the d20, pushing it towards a more Fate/Fudge direction and then...added graphics and stuff. It's a very lite and interesting take on the rules. While I prefer d20/OSR, I like a lot of his design decisions. In any case, I'm of a "the more/the merrier" take on these sorts of projects. If I were ever to do a WNM 3.0, I'd definitely incorporate many of his ideas. Available here: swordandshieldrpg.blogspot.com/If you want to go completely crazy, he even has a Lulu page for it so you can get a hardcopy of Far Trek (and by extension, some of WNM). It costs money, but only enough to cover his printing expenses.

Overall I really like what he did with the layout and art, though the font is sometimes hard to read.

No, not so much a Fate/Fudge direction. It's still very much traditional TT mode. Use of "Fate Points" isn't in any way a move towards FATE system... after all, a LOT of games have similar mechanic for rerolls. Other than use of fate points as a per-session expendable of limited gain, it's quite unlike FUDGE. He uses attributes and skills (FATE uses only skills), 3d6+Stat+skill vs TN (FATE and Fudge use skill+4dF), I see nothing like FATE aspects nor skill pyramids.

I noticed that the Talent 'He's Dead Jim' is listed, but not described.

That's what I get for writing something up while slightly intoxicated.

startrekboldlygo.blogspot.com/This is for the Far Trek RPG rules...these rules have their birth in Where No Man Has Gone Before...but they are evolved a little bit. This site has some additions that can be used with those rules. www.mediafire.com/folder/lrhbz9l0qay0j/Far_TrekThis is where you can find the rules without art. It has been awhile since C R Brandon released a print one...does not want to be in competition with Star Trek Adventures.

This is great, thanks! They did put in a lot of work, and Im getting a real kick out of it, more than Star Trek Adventures to be sure.
Although I wish he/they would've cited their work a little better.

Since this is based on WNMHGB, I figured I would stick it here. Hope that’s agreeable to all. I took a look at the two modules. “Words Are Not Deeds” is said to be a conversion of a module by Roger Taylor. Anyone know where the original can be found? Was it fan-published or official? I was able to find the original of “Be Not Afraid” here: strpg.patrickgoodman.org/#Adventures - it is for Decipher/CODA Star Trek, but I am not sure if it was from their official website originally or if it was fan-published.

The two adventures written by Roger Taylor are fan made. I've known him for years and while he would love to publish STRPG material officially, he hasn't made it across that line yet. I believe he did get some items submitted and accepted for one of the FireFly RPG books.

So I've been looking through the Far Trek book to create a character for an online game. I was looking at the races and I spotted something weird about the Caitians. The book lists them as strictly vegetarian. I thought this was odd for a cat based race known for eating fish and mice. I don't recall anything in the TAS episodes that mention this.
Did I miss something? It wouldn't be the first time but I wanted to make sure.

So I noticed that the blogspot site wasn't active. I used the Wayback Machine at web.archive.org to see if I could pull up the old site. While it had the site, the link to the various documents (going to a google doc page) were also down.
Did anyone download the various books from this site before it went down?
