They put up the first season of Enterprise on CBS.com so you can now watch it for free, for what it’s worth.

Are you saying it's not worth paying for?
I don't like any sort of "revisionist history" in the series I like. Star Trek was first; therefore everything that comes after should actually come after.
Sadly, they didn't ask me.

I guess I was saying it might not be worthwhile to sink time (and mess with your head) watching it, not even for free!
The idea with going back before TOS must have been to get away from all the “lore” that had built up in TNG/DS9/Voyager and start afresh in a way that would presumably be accessible to new viewers. Unfortunately, it felt like tired rehash right from the very beginning, and even as someone who hadn’t watched pretty much any TNG/DS9/Voyager, I could tell that they had all their conventions in place and nothing was exciting about what they had to say about the future. So only the most hardcore were left watching this series at all.

It could have been done much better... and without violating established "back-history"... if only the producers had cared about inter-series continuity.
There is lots that could have been done in that pre-Federation scenario... they just decided to do the wrong things.

I bought all four season sets of Enterprise on DVD a few years ago and I like it quite a lot. It's my second favorite Trek, next to TOS. My son likes it better than TOS, but I suspect it's because of the improved special effects used.

Star Trek was first; therefore everything that comes after should actually come after. You don't think they could make a good series out of the Daedalus era explorers? Even the adventures of Captain Pike? I can see a GREAT show in that era - and at least the Anaxar crowd seems to think so...

Enterprise was a good series. It wasn't great Star Trek, but it was a good show on its own merits.
If you don't think of it as trek, it's a fun enough ride (excepting the Xindi War).

I think I've pieced together about 10 episodes of Voyager and 1.5 episodes of Enterprise over time. My wife and I have been revving up our Star Trek watching in the past couple of years for the 50th anniversary, but so far we still haven't quite got through DS9, so I think Voyager and Enterprise will have to wait until next year.
Some call Scott Bakula wooden, and I agree, but I still find his characterizations pretty charming. It feels strange to say it, but I have hopes that Enterprise will be better than I thought it was going to be, at least if I squint while I watch.
