It's a great read. I'm a little surprised about how much of this made into the show we all know and love. (No mention of the transporter here, though. I notice thought was given as to how they would quickly move the characters around, in a smaller ship.) A lot of the proposed shows did indeed get made. Some were changed around a bit, but still plainly recognizable. I would love to see "A Question of Cannibalism". Also, it seems like some of these that didn't quite make it *did* have some kind of influence on TNG ("A Matter of Choice" shares elements with "Time Squared", "Cause and Effect", and "Tapestry".

Well, there had been a discussion on the OD&D boards about early Star Trek and someone had posted a copy of the Writer's Guide that was listed as 3rd printing, so the question came up about whether anyone had an earlier version. I posted an original version PDF from my hard drive but couldn't recall where I got it and Falconer suggested it might have been from this thread. So I wanted to give an "attaboy" to you for posting cool stuff, particularly since I was handing it out later. Thus, the resurrection of the thread. Sorry that it took me six years to praise you.

and 16 months for me to notice?
Looking at it, it's worth noting that most of the initial p1 proposals eventually got made into episodes. And one of them got cribbed into The Orville, too...
The Next Cage becomes the first pilot. Gets a little muddled. Orville's s1e2 Command Performance is another flavor of it... The Day Charlie Becomes God: Charlie X President Capone: A Piece of the Action To Skin a Tyrannosaurus: rolled into All Our Yesterdays The Women: Mudd's Women The Coming: Bread and Circuses
