Greetings! Long time lurker decloaking.
Anyway I have a question about 1986 Introduction to Star Fleet Battles game. Mainly what did cover, and what ships did it have.
Thanks!

Introduction to SFB is the precursor to the Cadet Training Manual.
It covers the basic game, and it works up using cadet cruisers for Feds, Klingons, Romulans, Gorns, and Orions. Full up, IIRC, it's just the Klingon D6 and Fed CA.

That is what I thought but could not find more info. I might consider using the pocket edition, seems to be a good beginning point for a more trek focused form of SFB.

That is what I thought but could not find more info. I might consider using the pocket edition, seems to be a good beginning point for a more trek focused form of SFB. You might want to go for deluxe rather than pocket - same mechanics, better spread of ships. Fed CA, CC, DN, CL, DD, Scout, Tug (+ Battle, Starliner, and Cargo Pods) Klingon, C9, C8, D7, D6, E4, F5 Gorn CA, CL, DD Rom Warbird, War Eagle, KF5R, Kzinti CS, CL, AS Carrier, Frigate, Tholian Patrol Cruiser, Orion Pirate Raider Generic: Base Station, Small Freighter, Large Freighter, Starbase That said, the Cadet Training Manual is good for learning the basics. The original presentation of cadet cruisers was in the era of Vol I-II-III in Nexus Magazine. They're half the systems, play with reduced ruleset, and the CTM is available at starfleetgames.com/starfleetbattles.shtml for free in PDF.

Picked up pocket on drivethrurpg. I like its simplisty and its maleablility. Having played Commanders and Captains SFB in the past and recently started trying to read the rules, realized how much we didnt use. Pocket Edition is so much more straight forward and Star Trek in its feel.
