Sorry if I sound clueless, but I'm new to the forum.
Are we permitted to post "Homebrew" Star Trek games on the forum, and if so, is there a particular location or thread to put them?

Looking for somewhere to hide from Gorn?
I'm surprised it took that long!

Not hiding. JA banned me. Lol. I guess I had it coming. Didn't mean to offend anyone but Gorn and JA. I think i managed to get that done. This is a cool forum. Looks like we have it to ourselves

Just not much going on here... Been quiet for a long time.
You and I (and several others) are quite aware that Gorn is definitely NOT a Vulcan.

I guess I can just put the game here. I know the forum is TOS and TAS era, but there are ships in this game from the movies, as well as TOS/TAS. I was actually going to focus more on one era, so I figure in any updates I'll move to the Pike and pre-movie ships. ST SOS 007.pdf (770.01 KB)_ ST SOS SHIPS 007.pptx (561.03 KB) ST SOS SHIP counters.pptx (448.37 KB)

I could see this being useful to create a quick-play system for an RPG, or even could be used to serve as the tactical part of a campaign system. There are, of course, the usual typos and it needs some serious play testing (for purely testing purposes, of course

No doubt there are typos, and a need for Play Testing. It has already been refined quite a bit over version 001.
It is basically ST:STCS light (very light). Feel free to play and report back.
I'm not all that worried about someone "Steeling my idea" with this. First you can't really copyrite the rules to an RPG or tactical game. You can copyrite some of the specific math formulas and the setting... there is no way CBS or Paramount is going to let me have the game rites to Star Trek. So it's just a game for people to share and play.

The standing rule is: So long as you don't try to make money from it, you're ok... (Unless they get a bit pissy anyway, not that that happens )

Correct. As long as you don't make money, draw too much attention, or make a better product, you're normally okay. I should be fine on all three counts
So I don't commit the sin of double posting, I'll just update this post. Since I want to set the game in the Pike-TOS-TAS era (basically pre-motion picture era) I need to select some ships. Federation ships are easy to find, people have been making semi-official federation ships for decades. Other ships are the problem... Vulcan, Klingon, Romulan, even Gorn and Tholian ships should be included to make things interesting, but there are only a couple of each to choose from. Does anyone have links to alternate ships from non-federation fleets? Converting them to ST:SOS is very easy, so all I need is the image and a simple description.
FWIW, I am also working on a RPG for this system - Star Trek: To Boldly Go. Emphasis is on simple, fast, rules-light game play as found in "Hero Kids" (an excellent first RPG for kids).
