Stardates are so wonderfully fudgable. For my games, the stardate is the yrmo.day. "6407.01" is july 1 2264. Or 2364, with century inferred by the campaign. 6407.0123 would be 11pm, same day.
It's all self-referential and doesn't much matter in the grand scheme. Just a trek-ism for that flavor we all love. And there are so many flavors to choose from.
To equate timelines, I mostly go by the Okuda's work with some personal conjecture; taking 200yrs + 1966/7/8 with TAS being 2269/70. That slides the Organians later than most have here, but 'slide' is certainly the correct term for what we are all doing for our own personal tally. Time is still relative to Earth, so human crews talk Julian; where Intrepid would have been Vulcanian calendar.

Crawling through Memory Alpha, I finally made some sense of TOS Stardates... each 0.1 is one shift on a 3 shift day. Technically, 8h 46m some seconds.
