So this year Modiphius released a Tricorder Boxed Set which included a rules digest that was very TOS centric. This was the rules boiled down and easier to find from what I understand. I didn't want to pay for the whole boxed set (almost a $100) because I'm not a big collector of the extra doodads. Luckily they released just the book and I was able to find a copy on ebay at a reasonable price.
I'm still deep diving into the book (when time allows) and so far I'm liking it a little bit better than the chaos that was the Core Rulebook that was released in 2017. It is black text on a white background with TOS themed graphics. Not as many "pop-ups" and it seems to flow a lot better.
Supposedly the updated rules from the Klingon core book and other supplements are included in this. I need to read up on the character advancement options. That was one of the complaints I had heard from other people who had tried the game.
Being a big ship fan, my wife ordered the book "Utopia Planitia" on the pre-release for my birthday. I'll report on that book as well.

I bought the whole tricorder set. Still haven't played the thing, but I like it in concept better than the regular TNG look.
