Is anyone else listening to these? It's two ST fans and film critics watching and commenting on episodes of the Original and Animated Series. They're about 2 hours per episode, in production (not broadcast) order, and they go pretty deep into details. I'm only up to episode 25 so far, and I'm rather liking it.
I am especially digging that they are buying into the notion that Kirk was a serious nerd in his early career, and that he *earned* the command of the Enterprise at a young age. Interesting aside, in "Court Martial", he meets a classmate in the starbase bar, and says, "Our Academy class seems well-represented" and the three guys he's talking about are wearing Lieutenant stripes.
Often, Spock is not that far ahead of Kirk, especially when it comes to the ship and its capabilities, for instance.
