This dovetails with the General discussion, but organizationally I wanted to keep it here. I’ve often mentioned how I use all the starship energy, starship travel, and starship combat rules from S&S, just imported à la carte into my (otherwise) STAGFF game, and how well they capture the Star Trek (TOS) flavor. Well, someone has posted some house rules for making shield use more interesting in S&S: https://www.reddit.com/r/osr/comments/gya5c5/alternate_shield_screen_rules_for_starships/It certainly makes it more flavorful, and I think I will keep these rules handy, maybe not using them all the way all the time, but sometimes.

I'll be tinkering with these as I adapt (smush together) S&S ship rules with my Far Trek game.

After a few playtests, my players (well, 2 of them) think the die rolls for damage-absorption is too much work, and would rather it be a blanket 5 (2 for half) points off each weapon hit.
