Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I didn't see a forum for contemporary ST-related entertainment media.
The trailer for Strange New Worlds looks promising. It's not quite as old-school-looking as I would hope, but there are some Old School vibes in part of it.

Fingers crossed! The inclusion of M'Benga (he was in the TOS Vanguard novels) makes me hope they care enough about old-school continuity to make this a great show. I'll give it a watch, although given the tone of Picard and Discovery, I would not bet a lot of money that they can sustain old-school goodness for the long-term. But, hope springs eternal!

This is as good a spot as any.
FYI, M’Benga is from TOS proper. He is in two episodes, IIRC. He is one of the other doctors serving under McCoy.
I’m very unlikely to watch this. For one thing, the trailers turn me off in many ways. But mainly, it just has to do with my approach toward media consumption. In short, I can consume only so much of it in my lifetime.

Oh yeah, I remember that now about M'Benga! He was also in some comics way back when I think.

I'm hopeful, but I'm still not a Paramount+ subscriber, so I'll wait until it hits DVDs. The on-ship sets look less offending to my eye than Discovery, so that's something.

I thought it was great. Just the right amount of old school while still being accessible to those not steeped in lore.

I'm really liking Strange New Worlds. Each episode is a stand alone story. Yea they may have mentioned something that just previously happened, but it's not locked into the previous story. Just as TOS stories were mostly stand alone.

Starting to sound intriguing, even though Captains seem to have high hair in this version of ST!

Fantastic series so far. Just finished watching season #1 and now I want to go back to (suffer through) Discovery season #2 again to re-watch the episodes with the Enterprise there.
I like what they did with characters, both new and fleshed-out. I like the episodic format. It's just fun Trek. Nostalgically, nothing can ever surpass TOS in my mind, but SNW comes close in my book.
